Stage B: Improvement
In StageB, based on the results of the chart review conducted in Stage A, the physician then selects an area where improvement is needed and documents his or her strategy for improvement. This improvement plan is for the personal use of the physician and is not submitted to the APA. During Stage B, the physician implements the educational plan for as long as he or she deems necessary, with a recommended minimum of 30 days between Stage A and Stage C.
Educational resources are provided in the FOCUS MOC PTSD Workbook that can assist with the improvement plan; however, any accredited CME activities relevant to the improvement plan can be used. Space is provided in the workbook to document your plan.
After formulating an improvement plan on paper, continue to the online evaluation, document your participation, and receive a Stage B certificate of credit. After at least 30 days, proceed to Stage C, Second Review of Five Patient Charts.
